PARTICULAR PROBLEM

II. CONTAINER MANAGEMENT AT LOGISTIC SERVICE BUSINESS COMPANY

1. Industry Subject Overview

Multimodal transport service is a method of transporting goods by at least two modes of transport in the Door-to-Door transport chain:

For multimodal transport services (domestic transport, international transport), the freight service by CONTAINER helps to reduce transportation costs, product costs are significantly reduced, contributing to improving labor productivity as well as the quality of business companies in the transport industry (operators) and ensure the requirements of goods safety, delivery time of consignees.

On that particularity, in order to minimize the “cost” of operation and the “time” of delivery, the transaction processing procedures between the shipper and the transport unit, between the professional departments in the Transport units need to be fast and accurate.

Therefore, the management and monitoring of the status of the CONTAINER used to transport goods for transport businesses is always a matter of concern, businesses are looking for and investing in powerful tools to support the management and utilization of Containers.

2. Operation Process

Operation process for transport service business units

Description of Main Activities

2.1. Business management – Sale

  • Like other businesses, at road and sea transport units, business activities and transactions (deals) are always the starting point in the chain of production and business activities.
  • The operations of information management of customers, agents and partners are always improved to increase the service quality of the company.
  • To coordinate and best handle transactions in sales, support systems such as software, hardware, etc. are always used at full capacity to meet management needs in sales.
  • In addition, the connection with other systems – other departments are operating in the enterprise plays a great role in controlling, managing and inheriting information to solve problems/businesses accurately and quickly.
  • Management business processes include:
  • Sale price list
  • Sea freight rate
  • Road cost norms
  • Booking Online (Web, Mobile Apps)
  • Book Container
  • Application letter to borrow Container
  • Cabin storage agreement – Booking Note
  • Booking transfer shell
  • Shell aprove
  • Expected shipment
  • Bill of lading – B/L
  • Cargo manifest – Mannifest
  • Arrival notification
  • Delivery Order – DO
  • Inherriting service charge information of Logistic Process
  •  Bills
  • Free notice – Debit Note
  • Toll collection: receipt/ credit report

2.2. Logistics management – Utilization

  • Being the center of the system with the chain of “Container management and operation”
  • From receiving information from the Sales Department to performing transactions with Warehouses/Dies, Ships/Vehicles, customers.
  • The workload is very large with the following business processes:

          – Manage containers owned by the company, borrowed or rented from partners;

          – Manage container operations such as: emptying, packing, unloading…;

          – Management of cleaning, repair, refrigeration… container operations;

          – Customer collection fee: DEM, DET, DO, store container, storage, cleaning, refrigeration

          – Manage the status and availability of containers at the enterprise, in transit and at the customer.

2.3. Data connection with other modules/ systems:

  • In container operations, in addition to internal management software, hardware and software systems exploited at warehouses, seaports, etc., are strongly researched, invested and applied by transport enterprises (handle, container loading and unloading software, etc.);
  • Groups of data arising on different systems must be connected and inherited to ensure seamless information to serve the needs of the Mining Department, business departments and business leaders.

III. BRAVO® SOLUTIONS IN BUSINESSES

1. Organization of The Software Database

With the Door-to-Door transport chain, businesses have to organize a scattered system in many different locations/provinces/country. Therefore, organizing the database to separate data at each use location and aggregate data to serve the management needs of leaders is the first problem that needs to be solved on the system.

1.1. Organization model for updating and exploiting system data

As mentioned, because the locations where the software is used are spread across geographical regions, BRAVO needs to build a data system that combines a synchronous data solution to ensure the timeliness of data (serving data inheritance, tracking and management issues arise) and data continuity (to ensure continuous sales and production in the event of connection problems, reducing latency in communications) need for continuity such as sales, import, …).

Model of designing and implementing BRAVO 8R3 software system allowing users to access through different platforms – multi-platform (Window App, Web-App, Mobile App), online operating system (online) and a common connection to a database on the server.

a. Deployment description

At head Office

  • Install 01 BRAVO 8R3 (ERP – VN) software include “running program” and “database” on Server
  • In departments, computers that are allowed to access the software (Client) will be declared (machine name, user ID) and installed “running programs” for users to update information and data into the software.
  • Users will be managed and decentralized in detail according to each user’s role in the relevant departments

At company branch

  • Installing software BRAVO 8R3 (ERP-VN) only includes “running program” (not including “database”) on client machines of departments, participating users use the software to update and transmit and receive data online to the software on the server at the head office
  • Users are decentralized and authorized to ensure independence and responsibility when updating data into the system.

1.2. Grouping user data at each use location
